Your private tour begins with a visit to Memphis, the ancient capital of unified Egypt. Memphis was founded according to ancient tradition by King Menes, who united Upper and Lower Egypt around 3100 BC. During your visit, you will see important monuments from the ancient city, including the famous colossal statue of Ramses II and the impressive Alabaster Sphinx.
Continue to Sakkara, one of the most important archaeological areas in Egypt and home to the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser. Built during the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser, the Step Pyramid is widely recognized as one of the earliest large-scale stone monuments in ancient Egypt and an important development in pyramid architecture.
Explore the ancient Sakkara necropolis and discover some of the remarkable tombs of the Old Kingdom. Your guide will explain the history, architecture and stories behind these fascinating monuments while you explore the site at your own pace.
Your final stop is Dahshur, a quieter archaeological area famous for two extraordinary pyramids: the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid. The Bent Pyramid is especially unique because of its unusual change in angle, while the Red Pyramid is considered one of the earliest true smooth-sided pyramids in Egypt.
Depending on the selected option and available tickets, you can also enter the pyramids and experience their ancient interior chambers.
