• Is unique in style and remarkable for its grand proportions and majestic beauty it is one of the most remarkable monuments in the Middle Ages the mosque was built by order of Sultan Hassan Ibn Nasser Mohammad Ibn kalawoun one of Turkish Mamluks who reigned Egypt he was only a baby 13 years old

• Ahmed Ibn Tulun may be regarded as one of the most important in the history of the Muslim Egypt during his rule Egypt from being a province of the Abbassid khalifate became an independent state the mosque was built by order of Sultan Ahmed founder of the Tulunid dynasty 868 A,D
