  • Mohamed Ali gave special attention to the citadel he built the Gawhara Palace to serve as a private residence for himself he also constructed the department of justice and the mint and the depot for state archives and more over he established a factory more than 1000 workmen were employed which produced about 750 Rifles a month
  • all within the walls of the citadel and he built Mohamed Ali mosque ( Alabaster mosque)
  • OLD MUSEUM
  • the antiquities were first housed and exhibited in a building in Boulac 1891 the collections which had already reached an important in number were transferred to Giza finally in1902 they were moved to the building which they now occupy so Cairo City is today the most important center of research that new science which came to birth in 1822 when Champolion deciphered the Egyptian hieroglyphics finally during the last century the veil lifted and we can say today that reading hieroglyphs is no longer a secret
  • OLD CAIRO COPTIC CHURCH ⛪️
  • Abu Serga Church
  • This Church is dedicated to the Saint Abu Serga it lies in the Roman fortress of Babylon the history of comprised from scanty records it was probably one of the Churches of the Roman garrison built in their fortress
  • HANGING CHURCH
  • It takes the shape of basilica and it has a wooden roof in the shape of Noah’s Ark it consists of the following Entrance. The Nave. 2 passages, the three Sanctuaries it has about 120 icons on the walls represent to the victims inside there are 2 passages southern and northern eastern passage separated by 8 columns from the navy in the middle of the southern passage is a door which leads to small Church inside the church there is a baptistery
