  • The history of Al Muizz Street dates back to the era of the Fatimid Caliph Al Muizz Li Din Allah ( 341-265 AH / 953-975 AD ) who ruled Egypt in the period between ( 358-365 AH / 969-975 AD ) as the first Fatimid Caliphs of Egypt the street is currently the largest open museum of Islamic antiquities in the world and a unique heritage site that was included on the world heritage site’s list in 1979 AD the street names changed over the course of history until it was known as Al Muizz street since 1937 AD in honor of him as the founder of Cairo
  • The street includes a group of the most wonderful antiquities of Cairo numbering twenty nine antiquities reflecting a complete impression of Islamic Egypt in the period from the tenth century until the nineteenth century AD which begins from the Fatimid era in Egypt until the era of Muhammad Ali dynasty
  • The existing ruins vary between Religious. Residential. Commercial and Defense buildings and today markets along the street which adds to the streets historical charm
  • KHAN EL~KHALILI
  • Khan market ( Sowaqe) it’s one of the areas of old Cairo the ancient Khan El Khalili neighborhood is 700 years old and it is considered one of the oldest markets in all of Egypt and the Middle East and it still preserves its ancient architecture from the Mamluk era
